Point Lepreau operates with approval from the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commision, the federal regulator of nuclear facilities, and the New Brunswick Department of Environment and Local Government under the
Clean Environment Act and
Clean Air Act. Point Lepreau monitors all radioactive liquid effluent and gaseous effluent. Station activities are managed, regulated and monitored from the transportation of fuel to the site, through station operation, to the storage of used fuel.
